About Zythos and Zythos Beer Festival
Zythos is the Belgium equivalent to CAMRA, fighting for beer consumer rights in Belgium and promoting the famed Belgium beer. The organisation was formed in 2003 and and after a year of planning and organising, the first Zythos Beer Festival took place in 2004. Since that first festival Zythos has not looked back as the festival has become the premier beer festival in Belgium.

Where is it?
The ZBF is held at the Brabanthal centre in Leuven. The centre is just a 10 minute bus ride from Leuven rail station where there will be a regular shuttle bus service from the rail station to the venue.
Leuven
Leuven has one of Europe’s most prestigious universities and has a town centre bustling with bars and restaurants. Most prominent among the nightlife of Leuven is the ‘Oude Markt’ a square containing around 40 bars! Giving it the title of ‘the longest bar in Europe,’ so there will be no shortage of places to go after sampling the beers of the festival. Check the tourism booklet from Leuven’s official tourist website to find out more.
The Novotel Leuven Centrum hotel is the perfect base from which to discover Leuven and the surrounding area. All the rooms were completely renovated in 2011 and are non-smoking, spacious and comfortable. You can enjoy a drink in the bar or have something to eat in the Foodsquare restaurant. This 4-star hotel with complimentary WI-FI has a fitness centre with hammam (Turkish Bath) and 6 meeting rooms accommodating 200 people for seminars or conferences. An undercover public car park is also available.
The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Leuven railway station, which is where shuttle buses to and from the festival itself will be going from.
